The Andrews Government yesterday announced that as of 11.59pm last night that step 2 for Melbourne real estate agents would commence. This means that private inspections are now permitted with 1 agent and 1 potential buyer (+1 partner and dependant children under 18). Home owners or tenants are not permitted to be present at the time of inspection. All parties are required to follow strict hygeine protocols.

The Victorian Government has announced that as of 11.59pm on Wednesday 16th September, Regional Victoria will move to Step 3 in the roadmap to re-opening. This means that private inspection in Regional Victoria are now permitted with up to 10 attendees who are required to follow the below strict hygeine protocols.

The Victorian Government has announced that stage 4 restrictions will remain in place in Melbourne for a further 2 weeks until 27th September. The rental eviction moratorium has also been extended until March 28th, 2021 and the savings threshold for rent relief grants has been doubled from $5,000 to $10,000.

The Victorian Government has today announced that for residential and commercial tenancies it will extend the ban on rental evictions until 31 December, extend the ban on rent increases until 31 December, Increase assistance and ensure tenant turnover is considered in rental negotiations.

The Andrews Government has announced that all Melbourne and Mitchell Shire residents must wear face masks when outside of their home as of midnight tonight, Wednesday 22nd July. Failure to comply will result in an on the spot fine of $200.

Further to the State Governments announcement yesterday, private inspections of occupied premises, under a strict set of health and safety provisions can continue.

In accordance with the current Consumer Affairs Victoria guidelines, private inspections of occupied/tenanted residential properties are allowed where an estate agent and one other person (the person for whom the inspection is organised) are present at the premises. The resident at the premises is not permitted to be present. In this case the resident of the premises will have to leave the premises, and should do so for a reason permitted under the SAHD (to obtain necessary goods or services, for care and other compassionate reasons, to attend work or education or to exercise).

With the safety of our community, customers, and their families being paramount, should you wish to view a property exclusively with one of our agents, we ask you to observe our Open for Inspection policy below.

If you do attend a private inspection, please:

• limit the number of people attending the inspection to one person

• Refrain from physical greetings

• Please refrain from touching surfaces within the property

• Maintain a comfortable distance (at least 1.5m) from our Sales Agent

Please do not attend property inspections if:

• You have any flu like symptoms including fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing

• If you have travelled overseas or been in contact with someone who has returned from overseas in the last 14 days

• Recently been in contact with someone diagnosed with Covid-19

The Victorian Government has confirmed new rules for open homes and auctions will apply from midnight on Sunday 31st May. Twenty (20) prospective buyers/tenants will be able to attend an open home PLUS any agency staff required to facilitate the open. Appropriate social distancing and hygiene measures still apply.

First National Real Estate Neilson Partners continue to monitor Australian Government Department of Health recommendations in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In accord with the latest requirements, we regret to advise that we must cancel all future open home inspections.

From this point forward, we will arrange only private appointments and limit the number of people entering homes to no more than 5 at a time. We will observe all social distancing requirements and health precautions, work with all clients to assure appropriate hand sanitisation takes place, and request that nobody touches anything.

We are very disappointed to have to take this step but are acting in the best interests of everybody’s health, in accord with government directives.
