106 YEARS IN THE LOCAL REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY
106 YEARS IN THE LOCAL REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY

In 2017 First National Real Estate Neilson Partners celebrated 100 years in the local real estate industry and this year marks 106.

Influential in facilitating the early and current development of Casey and Cardinia Shires, Francis P Facey grew from modest beginnings in Dandenong to expand into a major force in real estate throughout Melbourne’s Southeast.

Part one of this 4-part journey took us back in time to where it all began 106 years ago in 1917 when Frank Facey first embarked upon the world of real estate. We journeyed with him as he and his son Angus built the business from the ground up and earned an esteemed reputation as the region's most trusted and accomplished real estate agent. Now Frank's grandson Andrew Facey expands Frank Facey Real Estate and joins the First National Real Estate Network.

It was now Andrew’s turn to continue with the family tradition of hard work and commitment and while the Southeast was experiencing exceptional growth there was a huge demand for residential and commercial development sites.

In order to provide their clients with a vast array of opportunities and advice, Frank Facey Real Estate joined the First National Real Estate Network.

In 1985, Andrew and his business partner John Archibald opened an office on the corner of Webb St and Princes Hwy in Narre Warren. The office remains today as the site of First National Real Estate Neilson Partners and over the years has gone from strength to strength.

Local Subdivisions and Land Sales

Frank Facey First National Real Estate was instrumental in the development of land in the local area and Andrew and John successfully transacted many of the most significant land subdivisional sales in Narre Warren and Berwick. To name a few:

The Oaks, Narre Warren

Oatlands Estate, Narre Warren

The Elms, Narre Warren

Bryn Mawr, Berwick

Ebeli Heights, Narre Warren North

Montbrae Estate, Narre Warren

Keysmeadow Estate, Narre Warren

London Park, Narre Warren

It was, of course, not always plain sailing, and despite the downturn in Real Estate of the late ’80s and through careful management, Frank Facey First National Real Estate continued to grow.

Frank Facey First National Real Estate Branches Out

In 1992, the company branched out and opened an office in Mulgrave.

That year also saw the residential side of the business in Dandenong sold to Michael Hall who to this still operates from the same site in Lonsdale Street, Dandenong as Hall and Partners First National that he co-owns with his son Leigh.

During the course of these years, Frank Facey First National Real Estate attracted the loyalty and talent of many young local Real Estate agents, and it is a great testament to the Company’s pedigree that so many early recruits still play an integral role within the business.

Ross Neilson, who began his real estate career in 1987 with Frank Facey; Graeme Curtis, whose reputation precedes him in the Berwick district as an auctioneer and estate agent; Peter Watson, Partner, and Berwick Office Manager with an accomplished career in prestigious lifestyle sales; Todd McKenna, current Managing Director; Nyall Greene, Director and Licensed Real Estate Agent and lifestyle specialist, and Allison Holzer, Company Director, and Rental Division Director with 25 years experience in real estate, have all remained committed to the success of the business throughout the decades.

Facey Industrial Commercial is Born

In 1992 the demand for commercial development sites in Melbourne’s Southeast had grown significantly so Andrew Facey made the decision to form a specialist Industrial and Commercial business, Facey Industrial Commercial, known today as Facey Property.

Facey Industrial Commercial was soon leading the way in the local Commercial and Industrial sector so by 1994 the timing was perfect for Andrew to expand further into Endeavour Hills and Berwick.
