PAKENHAM #4 MOST POPULAR SUBURB FOR FIRST HOME BUYERS

Pakenham has been revealed as the 4th most popular Melbourne suburb for first home buyers, according to a recent study by realestate.com.au.

Samantha Landy reports that first home buyers are flocking to the outer suburbs to take advantage of stamp duty discounts, the Federal Government Home Builder Grant and the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme for new homes built in Victoria.

With a median house price of $520,000 and unit price of $398,000, Pakenham is a very affordable suburb for first home buyers. With most residents in Pakenham being families, the suburb is a great place to buy or build that family home.

New estates offer parkland and reserves, an abundance of schools for choice and public transport, along with easy access to the Princes Freeway. Coupled with its reputation as a relaxed, family friendly environment, it is easy to understand Pakenham’s popularity.

Also featured on realestate.com.au’s list of first home buyer hotspots is Clyde North at #5, Berwick at #9 and Officer at #11. All 3 of these suburbs have median house and unit prices below $700,000, also qualifying them for Government incentives and grants.
