The semi-rural township of Garfield is located within a one-hour drive from Melbourne’s CBD and serviced by the Melbourne to Traralgon, and Melbourne to Bairnsdale railway lines, Garfield is a growing town with a quaint rural feel.



Serviced by a retail precinct considered to be of heritage value, the area benefit's from a local butcher, bakery, Café and Foodstore, Chemist, and various gift shops. Major supermarkets can be found in Pakenham, 15kms to the west, and Warragul, 20kms to the east via the Princes Highway.



Growing increasingly popular with young families looking for larger houses and more land, Garfield Primary School is located central to town with Columba Catholic Primary School a short 3.5km drive away in Bunyip and public and private secondary schools located in Nar Nar Goon (10kms), Pakenham (20kms) and Warragul (30kms).



Garfield is a community largely based around their sporting clubs, including the Garfield Football and Netball Club, Garfield Cricket Club and, Garfield Golf Club located a short drive south of the township.



The historic Garfield Picture Theatre, built in 1924 was the Cardinia Shire's first picture theatre. It was restored in 2016 and now operates as a venue for various music events, functions and dances.
